Alford Technologies Awarded £1.5 Million Contract to Supply Gladius Off-Route Mine Systems to the British Armed Forces.
Alford Technologies Ltd is proud to announce that the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) recently awarded us a significant £1 million contract that later increased to £1.5 million.
This contract, which reflects the quality and reliability of our products, means we will equip the British Army with our highly versatile Gladius off-route mine systems, bolstering the UK’s defence capabilities and strengthening NATO readiness.
Unique Capabilities
This contract underscores the Gladius’ off-route mine system’s unique capabilities.
Comprised of the modular, versatile Krakatoa and Vesuvius shaped charges, with Explosively Formed Projectile (EFP), Gladius Fragmentation Projectile and Jet Forming Cone (JFC) options, Gladius significantly enhances light forces lethality and survivability, addressing a capability gap in explosive barriers.
Gladius will provide the British Army with a vital anti-tank mine capability for defensive actions, offensive ambushes, and sabotage operations.
Key Benefits of Gladius:
- User-Filled Design: This allows operators to customise the explosive charge and select the correct projectile option for specific mission requirements. User-filled charges also remove the transportation challenges of factory-filled explosive charges and significantly reduce through-life storage costs.
