Draken™ (part of Project Yellowstone) serves as a general-purpose barrelled water disruptor designed to carry out render-safe procedures against IEDs in containers such as parcels and briefcases or to disrupt components like power sources and switches. Depending on which of the two supplied barrels users choose, it matches the performance of the PigStick Disruptor and PigStick Lightweight Disruptor. Unlike existing disruptors, Draken explicitly addresses the challenges of operating in areas where obtaining ammunition is difficult or impossible. Users power the disruptor with a self-loaded 12-gauge cartridge case and a common electric squib.   The kit includes a stock of cases, squibs, and wads. Users only need to source double-based propellant locally, which, if necessary, can be obtained from recovered small arms ammunition. Stainless components ensure it lasts for several years of use without requiring special care or servicing.

A highly sustainable solution to IED disruption

Variable disruptive performance

Simple to operate

Ideal for operations in remote environments

Explosive Load and Performance

The designers of the Draken system focused on ease of use as the guiding principle. Separate barrels screw onto the chamber -a feature that significantly simplifies charging as the water fills the barrel and does not require a carefully positioned piston at one end.
A robust and chunky design helps reduce the system’s recoil, making it easier to fire from ROVs without requiring complex recoilless technology.

Kit Contents

A hard case and a tool roll, ideal for carrying during operations, are supplied with Draken.
The case includes all the tools required for assembling the cartridges and maintaining the system, along with consumables for 50 shots. Loading cartridges takes 1-2 minutes and requires no additional tools.
Additional sets of consumables can be supplied at a low cost, making Draken’s lifetime cost far lower than that of any existing system on the market.
The system is manufactured in accordance with Alford’s ISO 9001 quality management system.
