Vulcan™ is a highly versatile, user-filled, modular shaped charge system in service worldwide. Its capabilities include low-order destruction, deliberate detonation, and trepanning on land and underwater. Used as a tool for producing low-order disruption of target munitions, it results in a low-order 90%+ of the time, providing operators with high confidence. Vulcan has a range of six different types of projectiles, which, when combined with the ability to vary the explosive load between 10 and 50g, provides operators with tremendous flexibility to counter many types of UXO, both on the surface and subsurface to a depth of 80m using the supplied accessories. The Vulcan™ also forms the backbone of the Vulcan Counter Limpet Mine System™ that is in service with the Royal Navy.

Explosive Load and Performance
Copper Cone Set, Jet Forming
Produces a jet that can pierce holes through ~75mm of mild steel or thicker concrete or brickwork or cause the detonation or deflagration of steel-cased ammunition.
Copper EFP Set
Generates an explosively formed projectile (EFP) that can penetrate robust targets at much greater ranges than the jet-forming cone. This enables Vulcan™ to be used as a de-armer and disruptor device.
Magnesium Cone Set, Jet forming
It is less penetrating than a copper cone, but it can still easily penetrate even thick-walled shells or bombs and ignite the explosive or pyrotechnic filling.
Magnesium EFP Set
It generates an explosively formed projectile (EFP) that can create large (20mm diameter) holes in 5mm thick steel targets from a stand-off of at least 2500mm.
Aluminium EFP Set
Delivers a powerful blow to remove shell fuses and bomb pistols or jam their mechanisms. Provides a low-cost disposal alternative to de-armers that use heavy steel barrels.
Liquid Projectile Set
A pair of plastic cones shapes a water projectile which penetrates steel-cased munitions with a thickness of up to 10mm.
Vulcan Projectile Combo Set
A combination set containing two of each Vulcan™ projectile, including copper, magnesium, aluminium and liquid projectiles.
