Breacher’s Boot™ is a water-tamped charge for attacking steel, uPVC, and wooden doors. It is highly versatile, allowing the operator to use it against a wide range of targets by simply adjusting the explosive load and number of charges used. The Breacher’s Boot has been successfully used in the arrest of terror suspects and is now the only charge of its kind approved for use by the British police forces. A door breacher designed for optimal performance and ergonomics, consistency, simplicity, low NEQ, ease of use, size and weight. The ideal tool for operators, Breacher’s Boot takes the improvisation out of door breaching.

Low variable NEQ for optimised performance

Lightweight, even when loaded

Fielded widely in the UK and USA

Precision loading allows for accurate NEQ load measurement

Used individually or in multiple configurations (target dependent)

Explosive Load and Performance

Breacher’s Boot™ has significant water tamping behind the charge and a Water Cushion™ between the charge and the target. This cushions the direct effect of the explosive and spreads the force across the surface area to impart the maximum amount of energy without actually cutting the target. The two parts of the charge have been designed to place water exactly where needed while keeping the charge small and easy to handle. A unique profile on the ends allows dual initiators to connect to the charge quickly without needing tape or clips. Multiple charges may be fixed together on a batten and initiated at a single point.
You can load Breacher’s Boot™ with cut lengths of detonating cord or plastic explosive, allowing for accurate measurement and adjustment of the explosive load. The water tamping significantly reduces blast overpressure, decreasing the required stand-off and risk to the breacher.
A single Breacher’s Boot™ is capable of breaching an inward-opening thick steel door. Three charges affixed to a door in a vertical configuration will fold and remove a similar outward-opening door, removing it from its hinges and frame. Plastic (uPVC) doors are known to absorb the shock from most types of charges; however, the Breacher’s Boot™ can remove a plastic door from its hinges when positioned correctly.

Deployment to Target

The front of the Breacher’s Boot™ is completely flat, providing the maximum surface area for attachment to a target. You can attach the charge using Breacher’s Tape™ or HydroTape™, depending upon the texture and condition of the target surface. The contoured rear of the charge allows for easy, secure handling, even when wearing gloves or in wet conditions.

Charges are provided as empty, inert containers, which operators fill with explosives and water when required. A dual water seal ensures no leakage, which is paramount should the charges be prepared in advance during an extended standby period.
