The 20kg Magnet Pad Assembly is the bedrock of the Vulcan Counter Limpet Mine System™ providing the means of sticking the charges to steel targets. Designed to be extra strong and versatile, they feature a plastic bolt on the back, a common thread used widely in the Alford tools, and hold close to 25kg.  A plastic base plate holds each magnet, with a plastic bolt extending from the back. This design allows operators to fix it to various items, such as the underwater stand and the cable reel, or to use a plastic eye bolt to make them anchor points for hook-and-line techniques or marker lines.
