Neptunex™ charges are assembled from pre-formed lengths of extruded aluminium, with the steel box-sectioned liners factory sealed and fitted. This user-friendly design ensures a highly reliable seal, even at extreme depths, guaranteeing the linear jet can form in air. The end caps provided fit firmly onto the ends of the charge case and hold the detonator in the correct position for efficient initiation of the charge, giving you the power and confidence to use it effectively.  Neptunex may be attached to a target using Velcro strips, Underwater SquidTape™, or strong magnets, which can be purchased from the Alford range of accessories.
Available in four sizes for cutting between 20mm and 65mm steel
Operators can confidently connect individual lengths end-to-end with reliable initiation of all charges
For use underwater at depths exceeding 100m

Explosive Load and Performance
The Neptunex™ family of charges can be used to sever mild steel—from 10mm to 65mm thick—at depths of at least 100m. Using opposing pairs of charges, more than twice this thickness may be severed. The relative efficiency significantly reduces the amount of explosive needed. Operators should carry out a test firing on any steel target material whose properties are not precisely known.
Each charge can be initiated at either end, or both ends, by inserting a detonator or detonating cord booster (DCB) held in place by the Split Screw.
Deployment to Target
While primarily designed for underwater use, Neptunex™ is also highly effective in land-based demolition. Detonation on land reduces the aluminium body and lid to tiny, lightweight fragments. These fragments do not travel far, so there is very little danger of fragmentation damage behind and to the side of the charges.
